Hello! Shade Rachea here and let me just say, it's good to be back on the blog. Normally I would write a post on something related to writing, but today we are going to do things a little differently. My characters are just itching to be introduced so I decided to interview them for the blog. I know what you're thinking that that's a little wacky but meh. It'll be fun. That being said, let me introduce them. Here with us today is Princess Raynin, Prince Riley, Joseph and Prince Colin.
ME: Hello, Your Majesties. Prince Colin. Joseph.
Raynin: It's just Raynin. We don't do formalities unless we're around other royals. Makes us less intimidating.
Riley and Colin nod in agreement.
Joseph: Yea, because being all powerful isn't the issue. Nothing they do will make them less intimidating. Colin, maybe. But them two, no. Don't let her fool you.
Colin: Wow, dude. Way to make me sound weak or something.
Joseph: Just saying.
ME: So, tell me, how's your quest for the Crown of Amiriel going?
Riley: It's going. We've lost some people and hit a few snags but nothing we haven't bounced back from.
Raynin: This time.
The teens exchange looks.
ME: This time?
Raynin: I died.
ME: Care to elaborate?
Raynin: Not really but ask Colin. His girlfriend is the one who killed me.
Colin: I thought we moved on from this. That was not my fault and I even apologized.
Raynin: Did you?
ME: Okay... Moving on. I hear the two of you are married, Riley and Raynin. Aren't you a bit too young?
Riley: Not really. I'm 19 and Raynin is 17. Common age for people to get married. Especially heirs.
ME: Not here it isn't. Most people want to be in their late 20's or 30's before getting married.
Raynin: Well, when you're constantly trying to avoid death, why wait?
ME: Touché. So you're enjoying being married?
Raynin: Despite our current circumstances, yes.
ME: That's good to hear. So, Colin, you recently reconnected with Raynin and Riley. How has that been?
ME: Why, because you like Raynin?
Colin: No, that was years ago. I've since moved on.
Raynin: To a psychopath.
Colin: Again, not my fault. My memory was wiped.
Raynin rolls her eyes.
ME: I heard about that. It must hurt learning your own family betrayed you.
Colin: I'm not surprised, that's for sure.
ME: I would be. My family is everything to me.
Riley: Loyalty is hard to come by even in families. Power always comes first in our world. At least when it comes to our families.
ME: Joseph, how did you come to be with all of them? You're not royalty as far as I know and you're a Shadowwalker. How does a Shadowwalker get mixed up with heirs to multiple thrones and kingdoms?
Joseph: That's easy. Riley and Raynin saved me a few years back. I owe them my life. Plus, Raynin's like a sister to me. I would never abandon her even though her father is homicidal and trying to kill us.
ME: You're loyal. A quality not many people possess according to your friends. Does that have anything to do with you being a Shadowwalker?
Joseph: No, it has everything to do with me being a decent person. Their families may suck but I'm not like them.
Raynin: It's true. I've tried to get rid of him but he still sticks around.
Joseph: She's joking. I think...
Raynin smiles and shrugs and I laugh.
ME: Alright, so before we end, I want to play a game with all of you.
Riley: What sort of game?
ME: Who's most likely.
Joseph: Raynin. Every answer is Raynin.
Raynin: That's not true.
ME: We'll see. Colin. Riley. You guys in?
ME: I'll start with an easy one. Who's most likely to go off on their own?
Riley: Yea, Raynin.
Colin: Definitely, Raynin.
ME: Who's most likely to get jealous?
Joseph: Riley, no doubt.
ME: You're the jealous type? Wouldn't have guessed that.
Riley: Only when it comes to her.
ME: Understandable. Okay, here's a hard one. Who's most likely to survive this quest?
Joseph: Uh, me? I'm kidding. All of us would make it out but if we have to choose one, Raynin.
Colin: Raynin. She's died once so we're determined not to let that happen again.
Raynin: They're delusional. I'm most likely to die considering everyone is gunning for my Crown.
Riley: Not on my watch.
ME: I'm sure all of you will make it out alive. Okay, last question. Who's most likely to kill without asking questions?
All eyes turn to Raynin.
Raynin: Fine, I'll admit to that. What's the point in having a conversation with people trying to kill you?
ME: Fierce, independent and beautiful. Great qualities.
Riley: Don't forget stubborn.
Joseph: And hotheaded.
Colin: The not so great qualities.
The boys laugh and Raynin just glares at them.
ME: Well, that's a wrap on our interview for today. Thanks again for talking with me and giving the readers a little sneak peek at who you are and the dynamics in the group.
Riley: No, thank you.
Joseph: It was fun.
Raynin: Just maybe next time I can give an interview by myself without these idiots.
ME: We'll see. Good luck on your quest for the Crown.
Raynin: Thank you!
Colin: We're gonna need it.
A contrarian at heart. I prefer The Lord of the Rings over Harry Potter and Narnia. I love Country Music and John Hughes movies and am the worst at singing the correct lyrics.
