All I can say is OMG! So much SEXINESS in this book! You won't be disappointed!
Jenna is this stunning, strong, independent woman who knows what she wants and is not afraid to go for it while Emmett is this sexy, guarded, alpha male who is afraid of attachments. When I first started reading, I thought for sure this was going to be like the other romantic books I've read where the woman is wanting to get knocked up and have a baby and the guy is just in it for fun, but I was wrong.
Right from the beginning, I loved how Jenna takes charge, trying to keep her arrangement, with the overly sexy Emmett, strictly business since she knows getting attached can complicate things. One of my favorite lines in the book is when Emmett states, "I didn't sign up for a pump-and-dump.", after Jenna tries to stay unengaged during their first time together. That line perfectly shows how serious Jenna was about their whole situation compared to Emmett who was trying to blur the lines. But as with life, things got complicated as feelings developed and they spent time together. This part of the book is captured really well and Kendall does a good job building their relationship and showing rather than telling us how the characters and their relationship with each other is changing.
Finally, the pacing at the beginning of the book is a bit fast considering their was no real build up and the characters just jumped straight into the arrangement. Other than that small hiccup, I think the pacing normalizes after the beginning and everything starts to flow really well. Overall, it's a must read for all you romance readers!
A contrarian at heart. I prefer The Lord of the Rings over Harry Potter and Narnia. I love Country Music and John Hughes movies and am the worst at singing the correct lyrics.
